Clarify Your Vision

Clarify: to make clearer
“Clarify Your Vision” means to clearly define future plans that are unique to you.
It is sooooo important to have your own vision for your life. In my experience, people sometimes will try to fit and mold you into the the version of you that fits their vision and most benefits them. However, their vision may not be in alignment with who God called you to be nor who you decided you want to be. This is when you end up working a job that’s not in line with your purpose, in a relationship that does not have mutual interests, or just simply unhappy because your external circumstances are not those that are best for you.
You will not be able to spot the misalignment if you don’t have your own vision for your life. You might notice “this doesn’t feel right,” but may be unsure why. Clarifying Your Vision is an continuous process, but it has 3 key steps:
“Write the vision And make it plain” (Habakkuk 2:2 NKJV)
We often think we know what we need and sometimes we do, but of course God knows better. In order to have the greatest success in our endeavors, we must make sure our plans are His plans. Go to God in prayer and ask for divine direction for your life. When you get the revelation, actually write it out. Break it down in to bite sized pieces and work to manifest it. The decisions you make should be in alignment with your vision for your life.
Stay Focused on Your Vision
As Nationwide famously coined, “life comes at you fast.” It can be so easy to get “off track.” One minute you’re in close communion with God and have no doubt that you’re in His will. Then the next, you are contemplating taking more money to do something you don’t feel called to do or staying in an old season/relationship/situation because you are too comfortable to suck at something new. The clock on the season you are in is saying “times up,” but someone is counting on you. Someone made plans concerning you without consulting you. The unknown can be scary. However, don’t lose sight of your end goal or get distracted by other people’s plans for you. Don’t allow money or comfort to cause you to become complacent. Stay focused. If you did step 1, you already have a written plan that you can reference when you need to refocus or remind yourself why you are doing what you are doing.
Pivot and Redefine as Necessary
If you ever realize your circumstances are not in alignment with your vision, pivot. Go back to your vision and adjust your life accordingly. It’s all part of the process.
At the same time, know that you can redefine your vision for your life at any time. Your 30 year old self understandably may not want the same things your 18 year old self wanted. Your vision should be a guide, but do not use it as an excuse to keep going down the wrong path if you determine that what you used to want or thought God wanted for you is actually incorrect.
