Change The Inevitable
Growing up, my mom always said "people come in to your life for a reason, season or a lifetime". She went on to say that you never know which one it is until a person leaves your life. One of the things, I have learned is that you usually will not get a warning that some one is about to leave your life or even that the nature of your relationship will change. It just happens.
Maybe they get another job and move cities causing you to see them less, or maybe they get married and become parents and those new roles in their life changes the dynamic of your previous relationship. There are a million variations of what can be a reason or season. Conversely, a work friend or neighbor who you might assume would be seasonal could turn into being one of the most impactful people in your life.
Some reasons and seasons are easier to accept that others, just like some departures are more welcome than others. One thing I learned is that you have to accept what is. Be thankful for the lessons and experiences brought to you by the reason or season. Be thankful for the opportunity to get to know some one during that time and be thankful for change.
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war a time for peace.
