We're not done yet...

My new favorite show to binge watch on Netflix is “Madam Secretary”. The lead character is a strong woman who works hard for her country, but also makes time for her family who she loves deeply. In one of the episodes I saw recently, a character said “I’m not done getting where I’m going. It’s a journey”.

That quotation reminds me of the lyrics to an India.Arie song…“life is a journey, not a destination”. Where you are is not as important as where you are going, and the goal is that you never stop going. Don’t get complacent in your current position in life. There’s more to do! But at the same time, be kind to yourself. If you ever start to critique yourself or maybe even get critiqued by others, remind yourself that you’re not done yet. There is no rush and there is no finish line. The best part is, we’re just getting started.
