My new favorite show to binge watch on Netflix is “Madam Secretary”. The lead character is a strong woman who works hard for her country, but also makes time for her family who she loves deeply. In one of the episodes I saw recently, a character said “I’m not done getting where I’m going. It’s a journey”.

Read MoreHappy Monday everyone! Yesterday, Kobe Bryant and one of his daughters, Gianna, passed away in a helicopter crash with John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester and Ara Zobayan. News of their death shocked the world. The “Black Mamba” as he nicknamed himself is a basketball champion and legend who many were excited to continue to follow after his retirement from the Los Angeles Lakers.

The two words hardly seem like they can go together. One might think if you have problems, you would not have joy or if you have joy, you would not have problems. Surely they both can’t exist at the same time! Oh, but they can. That my friends is the difference between Joy and Happiness. Joy has nothing to do with what is going on around you, but everything with who lives in you (Jesus).
The Bible is full of verses that talk about having joy in our problems.

I really want a dog, but am not ready for that big of a commitment, so I’m starting with plants because typically they are less needy. I reached out to my linesisters with green thumbs and they suggested the best plants to start out with like Sansiveria, ZZ, bamboo, Pothos, Hoyas, Succulents because they are all low maintenance easy starter plants. My mom offered me a peace lily. I took it because it was free and seemed appropriate because I want my home to be a place of peace. I “creatively” named my new plant, Lily. She had a few little yellow leaves, but I pruned her ready to start our new life together, lol. See pic of her, before I adopted her.

Read MoreI recently moved into a new place and I’ve been noticing random things that need to be fixed. I’m the first person to live here and I had this preconceived notion that everything would be perfect. I mean no one else was here to mess it up before me, so the builder would just deliver me a perfect place, right? But what is perfect? A quick Google search yields this definition “the condition, state, or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects.”
